Inventory: one product, one spot β simple and safe
The one rule that keeps inventory simple
- Each product lives in exactly one location β its home. One location can hold many products. Receiving fills the home automatically; you never pick a spot.
- Locations are shelf spots only. No pallets, no staging areas, nothing else to learn.
Everyday actions
- Receive: scan the product (or search it), enter the quantity, confirm. Stock goes to its home location. A brand-new product picks its home the first time you receive it.
- Look up: scan a product to see where it lives and how many are left; scan a location to see what is on it.
- Pick: print the pick list from the order (see "Ship your first order"), pick by the sheet, and enter the picked counts to deduct. Several orders can merge into one list: totals by product on top, per-order detail below.
- Move: changing a product's home moves all of it to the new location and rewires the binding.
- Adjust: damage, loss, found stock β enter the quantity and a reason (required). It takes effect right away and is recorded.
- Full stock count: starting a count locks the warehouse (receiving and shipping pause, and the screen says so). Print the paper list, count shelf by shelf, type the numbers into the matching table, review the differences, and confirm β adjustments are created for you.
Lots and serial numbers
- For food, cosmetics, and anything with expiry dates, turn on Lots for the product: receiving records the lot and date, and shipping takes the earliest-expiring lot first.
- For high-value items, turn on Serial numbers: scan each serial when you confirm picking, so you always know which unit went where.
On your phone
Four quick jobs only: look up stock, quick receive, manual ship-out, and adjust β all scan-first. Batch work like pick lists and counts stays on the computer.
